I have a stupid problem in hand. I have a pair of 3-way tower speakers. They are from Sony. I got it from one of my friends who gave me this along with a DIY amp which he was using. Now the AMP is completely out of order and I want to replace this with a brand new amplifier and extend this into a 5.1 system. The basic problem is how would I know the power of the speakers? I don't have any labels, user manual....nothing.
Dont worry about the speaker power handling specification because it's meaningless. In general, speakers are damaged from distortion caused by pushing an amp beyond it's limits.
