The problem is the ribbon tweeters in the speakers, which can be a bit fatiguing. Rush: yes, I sure am! Heh heh! And I don't give pompous, one-note advice on room treatments to every single question under the sun either, unlike some people. (cough cough)

I also wonder if it has any bass management when a sub is added or if the mains are still run full-range.

Personally I'd much rather pay less for the sub-less version, and shell out $150 for an Athena p4000 or $100 for a Dayton 10".
