I'm going back to my home country and would be bringing back everything including my home theatre system and I just have this question.
Seeing how they throw around luggages in airlines, is it safe to put my receiver in a box and put it in my luggage? Or is it safer to send it via courier? Are there components in the receiver that might come loose from all the shaking and "torture" it would receive if I bring it with me on the airline?

Personally, I wouldn't trust the baggage people to be gentle. They're not paid to babysit luggage. Even some courier services aren't that nice either. But, I'd go courier. P.S.: make sure your receiver works in your home country.
