Bronze Member Username: Apresler07Canal Winchester, Ohio USA Post Number: 25 Registered: Jun-06 | Is that a good sub? I was looking at the dayton audio sub from partsexpress.com it is a 12" 150watt amp for 149. I have never heard either of them so i have no way of comparing. |

Bronze Member Username: Apresler07Canal Winchester, Ohio USA Post Number: 28 Registered: Jun-06 | so the dayton would be for movies and the athena for music. Which one would be the best choice for a 60% music 40% movies. I like a lot of boom but not too much that it overpowers everything else. |

Bronze Member Username: MrlorenChulaJuna, CA Post Number: 22 Registered: Nov-05 | I seconded the athena. I was going to get the 12" till the wife said ok for the HSU STF2. I checked out the Athend AS-P400 at BB and it was good better than my 12" Sony and my 10" KLH which are now bedroom subs |

Dont waste your money by purchasing a cheapo $150 pile of junk. Hold off until you have scratched together, at least, $400. At least then, you can buy something respectable. Anything in the <$400 price range isnt worth owning. Good Luck |
Bronze Member Username: Apresler07Canal Winchester, Ohio USA Post Number: 32 Registered: Jun-06 | $400 is more then my whole system. i dont need a really expensive sub i just need something that will keep up with what i have now. |

Bronze Member Username: Eib_nationOhio EIB Nation Post Number: 27 Registered: Jul-06 | You shouldnt expect much performance from a little $100 sub. Any spec they list is probably exaggerated. |
Gold Member Username: Project6Post Number: 8731 Registered: Dec-03 | Matt, they seldom specify the port or box tuning for home subwoofers. They do that for car audio subwoofers boxes. |

Gold Member Username: Project6Post Number: 8736 Registered: Dec-03 | Alex, whatever it is that you've learned in Car Audio is different for Home Audio. Enclosures have its own set of advantages and disadvantages. You ultimately have to decide which type sound sbest for you and the room you are using it in. |
