I know that there's only about one magazine that actually trashes equipment, but I'm getting really tired of the line "this speaker out performs most speakers that are twice the price". Any tips? Why can I find a review of an expensive speaker that someone hated? Just one... I'd love to not rely on these sources, but easy access to gear so I can explore is really limited. |

Here's one strategy, which I have employed to considerable success over the last year or so: Buy to try used. As in, audiogon. Pay a fair price and anything you don't like you should be able to get your money back out of, in full or nearly so. The other bonus is that your $ goes much farther. Typical selling prices are 50-65% of new retail. Cheers, Paul |
