I KNEW I had seen these before on this site...

http://www.t-linespeakers.org/projects/davidduke/index.html

Next question, are people really going to buy the kit WITHOUT the driver for 400$ when they can buy it at Canadian Tire for 40$?

"Designed" is a questionable word here; isn't it? Copied is more like it.

Anyway, how about selling that snazzy speaker cable?

I am really fed up with people that make the accusation that I copied the design from anywhere, I did these long before the web site with the similar look appeared, If anything they only pushed me to file for a patent. I had started working on them from 2000 6 years ago!!
My inspiration came from standing in front of a lot of elbows at home depot not from copying. Not that I thought I would have to even take this tack.
To those that can build them for $40 bucks go ahead, in NYC these elbows run from $6-$14 you are looking at more than $200 worth of elbows.
and the snazzy cable is for sale for $8K, but the marantz and heathkit is not ;)

Ask Mr. Oldsmobile about how Mr. Ford got to the patent office first. When you started isn't important, it's when you finished.

Ray, one way to stop people from "insulting" you is to stop claiming you "designed" these speakers. Whether you did or not, the web site is there with a similar design and it doesn't have your name on it.

I've been looking for a reason to chop up the Ling's. This and a $100 Canadian Tire gift certificate may be just the thing!

Mr. Builder, sir, did you do anything to the pipes other than wrap them around a post?

Here's the best part:

"on a side note you can buy mine finished in black for $1,200.00
<<You can get them from Bowers &Wilkins
If you have $40,000 bucks
Inspired by the shape of the Nautilus and by B&W"

Just $300 to spray paint them black?

Yeah those B&W Nautilus speakers are just plastic pieces stuck together with a driver thrown in.

Nothing to it.

Sorry Jan, if you read the fine print, the stand isn't included... so he didn't even do that! But I guess we can commend him for using only elbows...? Speaking of patents, this reminds me of the story of Tesla vs Edison, and Gauss and Newton... ah well, neither of these guys invented the light bulb or developed calculus from first principles...

Some people are so damn sensitive! Say they're not telling the whole truth and that their stuff's ugly (and stupidly priced - do you think you get to keep the kinks in the speaker cable for $8k?) and look what happens!

Where would Mr. Tesla be today if he got PO'd by Tommy always out-inventing him and he left in a huff? Well, we sure wouldn't know how to measure the magnets that recharge out pacemakers; would we? Good thing Guass finished first. Hey, did you guys ever hear the story about Harvey Goldberg's son-in-law, the one who married the Murray's third daughter, you know them, they lived down the street from the Bonnerman family and used to come over on Saturady nights when it was warm to sit on the porch cause the Murrays had a fan, who was working on the same prinicple first but Guass beat him to the patent office? It's a very sad story.

Did I mention the Murray's daughter is the one with the eye that wanders?

hey guys, I looked at t-line site. But they look horrible compared the the PVC elbow site. This guys simplicity in design is way better, cutting all that pipe is retarded after seeing the elbows speaker. Its like sculpture even my wife likes them. Heck I may even order a set or 2 Imagine these in a 5.1 surround system? gotta be awesome. maybe I can get one set and duplicate the rest.

JD - You can even be the next person to claim they "invented" this design. Awesome!

rtlbuilder,
These guys are just flamers and immature ignore them. I know the perils of designing, they are beautiful very sculptural. Just wish I would have thought of that. They are simple and elegant. Great work. Simplicity is the hardest to achieve.

Looks like a boa restrictor I owned once. It's a shame I didn't think about just having him gutted and fitted with a driver at the end to make him into this marvelous work of engineering and design.

They look like they are having a spasm.

Hey, anybody can take credit for this mistake in PVC.
I would deny it, meself.

Somebody back there said 'a work of art'.
So blame a guy named Art.
