I'm putting together a sound system (mostly for music, but an occasional DVD), and I can't settle on a set of speakers. I would prefer an all-in-one system for simplicity. My budget for the speakers is around $300-400.
I've considered the following: Klipsch Synergy Quintet Polk RM6200 Harman-Kardon HKTS 2 Acoustic Research NC6 Onkyo SKS HT500
I'll be hooking them up to a Marantz SR5200.
Thank you!!!

I considered it, but I can't listen to it anywhere, so... I'm leaning slightly towards Onkyo. Is this a bad choice?

You've listed some very good speaker systems in that price range. Take some CDs you know well to the store and give them all a listen. I don't think you will regret any of them - especially if you take them for a test drive first.
Make sure all of the tone controls and loudness setting are all turned off and you may want to try them in stereo as well. This may make the speakers sound dry and lifeless but the upper and lower frequency extensions are easier to here this way.
Good luck.

I wouldn't get the onkyo. Fluance and polk sound better.
