My Dual 505 t/t and the accompaining 40 or so albums are gathering dust.
I added new cables a year ago, and tried to balance the tonearm.
I have come to the conclusion that I am better with cd's.

Would this be worth putting up on e-bay, do you thik?
Like, maybe 200 for the lot.

No guarantees on the old, old vinyl.

The TT is worth selling on ebay if it can be shipped safely, which means packing it carefully. If you don't mind the trouble of packing the thing, I think it would be easy to unload a Dual TT on ebay.

As far as the value of the records, it all depends on the titles and condition. If you post this information here or send me a PM, I can you give you an assessment of their value. If it's a collection of Olivia Newton-John and Barbra Streisand albums, go straight to Goodwill.

You might check ebay current AND completed listings for the same or similar turntable to determine what it might fetch.

I know you didn't ask but I would be concerned about packing the turntable to avoid damage during transit. Perhaps you have experience to ensure the turntable arrives undamaged.

I've never sold anything on the net before, seemed like a hassle, but maybe.
My sister in law wanted the stuff at first, but after a month, decided no.
I will break down the tt a bit to ship and stay down every moving part.
Thanks, 2c, I will gather a list of titles and condition.

Perhaps you missed the jist of my old library, Jan.
Or perhaps you were prodding me otherwards.

Gordon Lightfoot is good, after a smoke.grin
I can see Jan air drumming to 'headin out to the highway', vintage Priest.

Nuck,

I see you were into classic rock. The easiest way to unload your LPs is to take them to a used record dealer. I'm not sure what the market is like in your nuck of the woods, but in the SF Bay Area they pay about a buck an LP for common titles.

In addition to ebay, you could try selling them on Audiogon. It's free to list an ad or an auction for music. So there's nothing to lose. The problem is shipping is going to cost a lot. Also some buyers might not buy from a seller with a feedback score of zero.

If you list an ad make sure you use the Goldmine record grading system, which is kind of like grade inflation:

Near Mint (NM) = Almost perfect
Very Good+ (VG+) ususlly means good condition showing some signs of wear
Very Good (VG) really means average
Good (G) usually means poor but playable

Good luck with whatever you decide. You could make some middle-aged kid happy.

Thanks 2c.
I would really rather give them to someone who would appreciate them, along with the tt.
I posted the lot here as a freebie before, but had to reneg on the offer, due to other considerations.

I will find it all a good home.

Hey Nuck, Don't get rid of the Cheap Trick album without talking to me. If it's their first one and in good (really good) condition I am interested.

I'll send it Art, gratis.
Anything else?

Heck pick and choose, folks, I really don't care, but postage help would be appreciated.
