I have the opportunity to buy a unused in the box SL 65 for less than $50. My parents bought one new in the late 60's and it worked for over 30 years. My question is that since the SL 65 was made in the 60's what should I check for/replace, do maintenance on the one I'm getting. Any opinions on the SL 65?
For $50 you can buy a much better turntable than a decades old Garrard. The SL65 was not a good table new and is even less valuable after the grease has been allowed to sit for years and years. Look for a Dual instead.
