Deree-greece Unregistered guest | I am looking to outfit a weightroom with a new stereo system. The room is about 60' by 120'the roof is about 25' hi. It is a large concrete box with windows on one wall. I really don't know what I need or want. Clearity might be a far cry for this type of room, so I guess I just need some volume. any info on how many speakers I should look into getting, or how many watts the reciever should be would be a great place to start. I would like to stay under $2000, but would rather spend more to get a better deal then be stuck with crap. Also should I be looking into outside speakers? Any feedback would be great. |

You should probably contact a commercial operation to get speakers mounted up on the walls out of your way. They'll know how to power them too. Check these out for starters... http://www.peavey.com/products/browse.cfm/action/drill/cat/95/begin/1/ImpulseSer ies.cfm www.electrovoice.com www.jblpro.com |

Maybe this... http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?cid=538 On the other hand, Cerwin-Vega has some offerings... http://www.cerwinvega.com/products/newpro/index.html |

I've been a gym rat for 25 years and the last thing one would want to do is blast music while people are trying to workout. It's a social thing too so people need to be heard when they converse. In this type of situation what one would want is backround music at low to moderate levels. Speakers that are too large are just unnecessary. The Peavey speakers are made to be suspended or attached to a wall up out of the way of the equipment. Four of them would be plenty. I've seen this type of setup before and it works just fine. We're not talking about a dance bar here. It's a gym! By the way, the Peavey company has been around a long time and they make a quality product. |
