if i have a 7.1 reciever.but i'm using 5 channels(two fronts,two rears,center ch.,and a sub).Is this wrong?I didnt program in back speakers or presence speakers,so it seems to be ok.Also i was told that if i did hook up back surround speakers they would take power from my rear speakers is this true?Any help would be greatly appreciated..........DR.Thompson
It's true, doc.(I feel like Bugs) The 6&7 channels are dormant in programs except a few sacd productions, and I doubt those. The power will be routed between your 4&5 speakers to be shared with the extra rears.
If you like your 5.1 now, no need to worry, you are not missing a whit.
