I own a CD-only player and have been using CD's. However, I heard from some sources that hybrid SACD really sounds better than CD on a CD player. Is it true?
Sometimes that's true because the cd version of an SACD is usually improved sonically because it is mixed from the DSD master using a process called super bit mapping.
I just bumped into a discussion on the net that says hybrid SACD is only better than CD if it's REMASTERED. I assume it means there is no quality improvement if the CD layer on hybrid SACD is an original record.
I have the remastered "Tubular Bell" by Mike Oldfield and "Medulla" by Bjork and those sound really wonderfull on my normal player. They are both SACD.But to compare I should have the normal versions wich I haven't for obvious reasons.
