Wednesday, December 21, 2005 - 19:25 GMT You can try the Aperion Intimus 422-LR. A set of A-stock will cost about $180 shipped.

Friday, December 23, 2005 - 00:50 GMT the paradigm atom will be a better bet than the aperion if you don't want to use a sub. They can be used alone for casual listening to my ears.

Friday, December 23, 2005 - 16:18 GMT Wharfdales are bigger than the size he specified. Can't find much info on the Atom on the Paradigm website. I would also recommend the Monitor Audio R90. They work very well without a sub, but you would have to go to the $300 range for them.

Friday, December 23, 2005 - 17:32 GMT take it from someone that HAS the atoms (ie: myself) that they work very well for casual listening without a subwoofer.
