I just bought a reciever and surround sound speakers and connected them to my dvd player through the modulater since my tv doesnt have the connections. How do I get the surround sound to work while watching tv? Thanks to anyone that can help me.

Your TV will need connections. If you don't have them, you may want to evaluate getting a newer TV with connections.
