Griswold Unregistered guest | I recently bought a Cambridge Audio Azur 540C. On the specs, it says it can play CDRw discs. I've tried playing CDRs through it but most of the times it gives a "No Play" error. Surely if it can play re-writables, it can play CDRs. Any ideas? |

The frequency of the laser used to read dvds is closer to cd-rws than cd-r disks (I'm lucky that cd-rw's work). If I remember right, when I bought this dvd some units had two lasers and the shiny new sony PS2 had a "dual laser". Someone will probably nail me for being techicially inaccurate but it something alone those lines - I'm stretching my memory here. I think the dye used matters too. Probably, a similar problem with your cd player. Anyway, pressed manufactured cd's are slightly different to cdrs burnt at home, cd-rw's are slightly different again. Might be worth try a few different brands. Defintely update the firmware on your cd writer too and write the disks as disk-at-once. I have forgotten something though... might find the answer here wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-R Also have a look at www.cdrinfo.com and http://www.cdfreaks.com |
