I like them for HT but I can not make up my mind about their use for music. I read some where that the Definitives sound bright on music. Can someone recommend: Other bookshelf speakers I might listen to that wold be less bright. I can pay more but like the size of the Definitives. Can the Yamaha 657 be adjusted to compensate for the brightness or is it adding to the problem? Thank you |

This isnt just on the brightness issue, but the Paradigms also have cleaner midrange. The treble is outstanding, being that these speakers use the same tweeter found in the studio series. I reccomend either the minimonitors or the monitor 3 http://www.paradigm.com/Website/SiteParadigmProduct/ParadigmModels/MonSeries/Mon series.html For a reciever, I would reccomend going to www.outlawaudio.com and purchasing their Model 1070 A/V reciever for $899. The sound will be much better from this unit than from anything mass market. The sound will be much smoother than the Yamaha, the treble will be more extended, and less bright. Here is a link to the reciever's section on the outlaw audio website. It lists specs, etc. etc. etc. http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/1070.html |
