Is it as straight forward as a lead from the card to the back of the amp?
Is there any risk of hurting the amp, or is the output of the soundcard the same as any other source?
Cheers.

Go for it Matey !!
I run £5000 of kit from my M-Audio Delta 2496 soundcard, which retails about £110 UK.
My CDs are all ripped to the HDD using 'Exact Audio Copy' (freeware) and played from there..
Use the digital out from the Delta card and you'll swear you're hooked up to a £2000 CD source....
Even the phono's will give a £1000 player a run for it's money..
Dont be scared, and don't go waste good money on a CD player if you already have a PC.. just hook it up and smile at what you've done.... :-)
I'll never own a CD player again.. Ever.

Thats amazing to hear heh.
I think i will still buy a cd player, as i like to listen to music while i do other stuff requiring my comp drives/sound card, but it definitely a good option as far as listening to downloaded music goes (i know the quality is wank, but if im not interested in shelling out for the cd, it will sound better through my stereo than my computer ).
