Thursday, October 20, 2005 - 13:28 GMT One has a stripe to tell it apart easily. It does not matter which you use for + or - as long as you use the corresponding ends to the same pole on both amp and speaker.

If it was a black stripe in white, I'd probably go with negative trace (stripe), as black is typically negative or ground. However, it could be a black cable with a white stripe, my convention wouldn't really stand up, as the no-stripe cable is "more" black. I generally go for negative trace, but it's not based on any scientific reasoning. Any installers want to shed some light on any working standards?
