I've just bought a set of Paradigm speakers and need a cd player and amplifier to go with them. I was looking at the Onkyo CR-505, which includes a cd player, amplifier and DAB radio for a bargain price(A£220)
The problem is that the amplifier is rated at just 25W per channel, and that's at 4ohms (speakers are 8).
I don't listen to music particularly loud, and was wondering whether that amp will be sufficient to drive the speakers. I don't have a large budget, so the cd with built in amp was favourable. Any advice?
The Onkyo will not likely be adequate to get the best from your speakers. Which Paradigms do you have?

The problem was not so much "Will I be able to get the best from my speakers", as I know I will not with a budget of <£300. I was just wondering if the Onkyo will allow a decent volume without distorting and damaging the speakers.
If not, is there any better solution with a similar budget?
