Hi, I have a marantz SR4300. My DVD player(LG) has a DTS digital output. I recently tried playing a DTS surround DVD. But i do not get any audio only the video. It says on the DVD that the DVD player should have "DTS Digital Output " written on it(My DVD player has that)and a compatable DTS amp with decoder. And the SR4300 has the following logo "DTS Extended surround". How do I play the DVD.
If i change the audio settings on the DVD(not the DVD player but by selecting on the audio menu of the DVD itself) to PCM then i am able to get the audio. Is it a issue with the DVD or is it that the amp cannot decode DTS format.
Common oversight. The DVD player's default option is usually to set DTS to PCM. Make sure both DTS and Dolby Digital are set to bittstream in the DVD player's menus.
Thanks Kano. I tried that out and it worked. Why does it not work when DTS/Dolby are set to PCM. Coz dolby i guess works when set to PCM. Why is the amp not able to decode frm a PCM format.
