New member Username: LawkPost Number: 9 Registered: Aug-05 | Thanks for your suggestions for my 2.1 setup. DA, my CS Model Six pair will be here tomorrow. Edster, my Dayton 12" sub will be here on Wednesday. Hopefully the 12" dayton wont be TOO powerful for my 12'x 15' office but, hey i can always turn it down. Thanks again. I'll post my review of the combo when I hear 'em. |

Bronze Member Username: LawkPost Number: 11 Registered: Aug-05 | One question i have is this. The Manual for the Model six pair says to use 18GA wire. Should i go with that or something bigger? |
Silver Member Username: Devils_advocatePost Number: 241 Registered: Jul-05 | http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htm The wire length chart there will give you a good idea of how long a run you can use at what gauge. I prefer to go with the 2 ohm figures since you never really know how low the speaker impedance dips (regardless of the 8 ohm nominal bs figures). Personally I use 14 gauge although I noted no real difference when I switched from 16 gauge before. The 14 gauge looks nicer though! |
Anonnnn Unregistered guest | Bigger, get the 48 gauge you will be amazed! |
Gold Member Username: Project6Post Number: 3569 Registered: Dec-03 | Actually 48 gauge will be a LOT smaller. |
Anonnnn Unregistered guest | Really? you think? why thanks! you are awesome ! lol |

Anoni Unregistered guest | Ask Berny, he knows everything |
Silver Member Username: Devils_advocatePost Number: 266 Registered: Jul-05 | It does exist, and is 0.2893" in diameter. There is also a 0000 gauge which is 0.46" in diameter. |
