newb here, setting up a modest surround HT system. So far, have Polk Audio RM6750, need a receiver looking at Denon 1705, AVR-?85 series (whats the difference between these 2)? also looking at Onkyo SR502/3,602 etc what are your thoughts? also, how important is adjustable crossover on the subwoofer?

anyone? please? that crossover question, i guess its also referred to as 'bass management'? what is it, and how important is it? thanks.
Look at Harman Audio on eBay, those are the best values and the HK receivers are very good quality.
Also the Panasonic sa-xr55 pure digital receiver would probably match well with your Polk sats, that way you can take the money saved and upgrade your sub...HTIB subs are notoriously bad.

In addition to the HK's I would look at the Pioneer 1015 and the Marantz 4500 and 5500. All very nice and match well with your Polks.
