Greetings, I need a set of budget speakers for my old Carver 900 amp. 100 watts per channel, 8 imped. I can buy a new pair of Klipsch RF-10's for $400. Would that be a good match? I'll have to order the speakers without listening to them. Thanks.
Ordering speakers based on someone else's opinion and without listening to them is a crap shoot. With the number of speakers available, I can only assume there are speakers you could audition before you purchase to make certain they suit your tastes. Why gamble on the Kilpsch if you can't audition them? There is at least a 50% chance you won't like them.

Tawaun, I'm not set on Klipsch. I'm just in a small town with very little to choose from.
Ordering Klipsch without listenning to them first might not be a good idea. The lower part of the Reference line sounds a bit bright, and you may not like that. I think the higher end Klipsch sound less identifiable as horns and are more neutral, yet very revealing. Try to go listen!
