waxman Unregistered guest | I hooked up some questionable speakers to my receiver and they played for a few minutes and then the whole thing shut down. I may have had speaker wires crossed or maybe the speakers were bad. The receiver won't even power up now, is there any way I can fix it? Or do I have to suck it up and just buy a new one? |

If your receiver is a quality one, you can heve your fuse checked by a electrician for $50. Even if you are confident about opening it up and cheking for the blown fuse which you could get the replacement at radioshack, you can get a dangereous shock even with the power chord unplugged - if you touch the wrong things - so I would take it to a shop. If the receiver is not of high quality, you can get a pretty good sounding one for $139 here : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26item%3D5790503844&category=3279% 26%26 |
