Ok, well I built a subwoofer enclosure recently and one of the only problems is my tile floor.. the sub doesn't like sitting on it.. And I'm too cheap to buy spikes / want to try my own solution.

Basically, think those long cables used to tie crap down on the car roof... bungie cables or however it's spelled.

Think it will work better ot worse than spikes?

The whole sub (1.85 cubic foot exterior would basically just sit on that) It'd be pretty easy to build.. I have so much extra MDF sitting here..

I guess you like to build because would it of not been easier just to buy spikes? Not sure how stable this is going to be if someone walks by and taps it!

how is that supposed to dampen vibrations? looks like a stand for a sub to me. you would be better off using a towel.

Than bungie cords? Maybe you don't understand the picture. It rests on the bungie cords which are suspended between the two sides.

the bungie cords will work because i have to pioneer sub boxes on my tile floor with 2 10 inch kickers in them. they wouldnt stay in one place then i took two bungeecords and rapped the from the bottom and connected the staps on top. the rubber bungee staps provide a great grip.

well that makes it an even worse idea. like danman said, how you gonna keep it from falling off when something pushes it like a little kid or a summer breeze. still think a folded up towel will work better. or get some speaker spikes from partsexpress.com

I've been thinking about that pic of your device and it looks like it would work but how heave is the sub?
