I've been told by many that the Definitive Technology Power Monitor 900 are the best you could get for a price of $1500 Response: 19Hz - 30kHz. Efficiency: 92dB Recommended Amplification: 20 - 300 watts. Nominal Impedance: 4 - 8 ohms. Drivers: - One 10" Long-Throw Subwoofer Driver w/ 250-watt RMS amp built-in (incl Auto ON/OFF Circuit) - One 6-1/2" Bass/Midrange Driver w/ non-resonant Cast-Basket - One 1" Pure Aluminum Dome Tweeter. - Magnetically Shielded http://www.definitivetech.com/loudspeakers/powermonitor/powermonitor.html I really appreciate any help with this!! |
Anonymous | There is no such thing as "best" but they are indeed very good. I doubt you will find many other full range bookshelf speakers like that. I'm sure a few people here would say that their speakers are more "musical" and accurate though. How are these speakers going to be used? How large is your room? Those things would kill for HT I would think. |

Anonymous | I just meant they would be great for home theater. For $1500 there are a lot of options though. There are a couple threads here are doing a roundup of bookshelves for about $350-$400. Combine any of those with a $1000 sub from say SVS and you have yourself a system that can easily compete with the Def Techs. |
