New member Username: DonshivPost Number: 3 Registered: Jun-05 | Hi, I'm looking for a really powerful powered home sub that's about over 800 watts rms and that costs around $400-$600. Please help. Thanks. |

How big is your room? $400? http://www.hsustore.com/stf2.html or http://www.svsubwoofers.com/subs_pb10_isd.htm $600? http://www.hsustore.com/stf3.html or http://www.svsubwoofers.com/subs_pb12_isd.htm Between the two prices? 12" TITANIC MKIII SUBWOOFER KIT http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=300-762 |

If anyone finds one, please let me know. BTW, the closest thing to what you're looking for will cost you about $1350 including cable and delivery. http://www.svsubwoofers.com/subs_pb12_plus_2.htm |

New member Username: DonshivPost Number: 5 Registered: Jun-05 | I care about the watts because with more watts the sub will be louder right? |
Gold Member Username: Paul_ohstbucksPost Number: 1587 Registered: Jan-05 | If you want that much power, you might want to plan on spending over $1000 for your new sub. If need a beast, look no further than this monster. http://www.svsubwoofers.com/subs_pb12_plus_2.htm It's a biggun' and can offer-out all you can take. https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-theater/136710.jpg I realize that it's not in your listed price range, but thats because what you seek doesnt exist in that price range. |
New member Username: DonshivPost Number: 6 Registered: Jun-05 | Is it better for me to just hook a car amp and a sub in my house then? I have everything so far except the power converter. I see a 90 amp converter, that should be enough for a 1800 watt peak amp right? It costs about $400. |

Silver Member Username: PetergalbraithRimouski, Quebec Canada Post Number: 936 Registered: Feb-04 | John, There is a correlation between SPL (loud) and power, but it's not perfect. There are design issues as well. |
New member Username: DonshivPost Number: 7 Registered: Jun-05 | Did those guys mean nope to the 90 amp converter not being enough to power the 1800watt amp? Because in the booklet I got the amp with it said this vehicle will need 90 amps of your vehicles power. |

BTW we are talking about home audio not car. If you are talking about car audio you need to say so because you are at the home audio forum. |

Ravo Unregistered guest | Some car audio subs have just as much sound quality if not more than home subwoofers, however they are litmited to playing 200 hz and down. I have an ancient pair of Jensen 15" in my room that play up to 1khz. When I found out I was stunned. Unless you run dedicated midrange and possible midbass, car speakers are no good. If you have some decent midrange, look in Resonant Engineering(http://www.reaudio.com), Adire Audio(http://www.adireaudio.com), Incriminator Audio(http://www.incriminatoraudio.com), SoundSplinter(http://www.soundsplinter.com), and Ascendant Audio(http://www.ascendantaudio.com). For $600, you can get one helluva 800 watt subwoofer. |

For the most part people want it below 80hz to prevent directional audio from being broadcast through the sub. Unless you have two subs directly under your speakers designed to be directional...you want it to cross over much lower anyway. And I agree that some car subs are higher quality than home subs. And, also last longer. |
