Just found this forum and hope someone can point me in the right direction. Now that I am retired I have time to get back to old vinyl, but after unpacking the turntable, it does not want to cooperate.

When it is plugged into the wall and the tonearm is moved over to the record, I thought it was supposed to start spinning, but nothing happens, no spinning, no strobe light, nothing but a click as the arm moves. The belts look fine.

Any ideas on where to start? Would a repair manual help and if so where could I locate one. I prefer not to ship but could carry to a repair shop if there is one near Atlanta, Ga.
