On sale at Ubid 50 units on a no-bid auction at $649. It's still a good deal for anyone.
It could also mean that there is more where that came from and if not enough of them sell, then there may be another auction

Thanks for the info. I for one am glad we got in for almost $200 less! Maybe they'll have more in a regular auction (not "ubuy it (R)" soon; then again, maybe they won't.
Speaking of which, my Elite VSX-43TX - the receiver that the SR8400 is replacing - is up for auction ending tomorrow. This way I can justify my SR8400 purchase - I didn't want two HT receivers.

Anyone know if the 50 units sold during the last auction? Last time I looked not a single one had moved.
Dale, I get the impression you are enjoying the hell out of your 8400! : )

They didn't exactly vanish: The 50 unit 'ubuy it' auction ended on Monday (don't quote me on the exact day), as scheduled. The last time I checked only 1 of the 50 had been purchased.
Edster, you have a great knack for understatement. I will be eternally grateful to you for this recommendation. I paid 539.90 including shipping and I feel that it was one heck of a deal. Take care.

I paid $499 and agree totally. This thing is awesome. I did blow the fuse on my sub's amp yesterday while playing music. I am not quite sure why? It was pretty loud, but still under reference levels. Anyone else have difficulty? Maybe I should turn the LFE down?
No problems here. Though I will be watching the Pistons vs. (whatever their name is) game tonight with some friends. If the Pistons loose, I may end up blowing a fuse, but no guarantee with the SR8400.
