Hi all - my first post here. I recently purchased the Yamaha RX-V1500 receiver and have had no problems with it these first two weeks. I also have the Axiom Epic Grand Master series of speakers which includes the 200-watt EP350 Powered Subwoofer. Tonight I played '1812 Overture' from my MP3 player at a +3db volume (loud). I notice that my lights flicker as the subwoofer is activated. The problem occurred when the first cannon shot went off - in mid-shot, the receiver turned off. I was able to turn it back on again, play the same music at a lower volume, and play it again at the higher volume with the subwoofer off. My question is: is this normal behavior for this receiver? I have yet to try connecting the subwoofer to another circuit since it is currently most likely on the same one as the receiver. I am also reluctant to try the same test again. Thanks for any ideas.
