i am thinking about buying a 250 watt plate amplifier from partsexpress.com to power a 15 inch audiobahn car subwoofer. i have a very small room(8x8) with no carpet. would this audiobahn subwoofer be good for home audio use. im going to be using it with a home theater reciever but for music only. would a car subwoofer blow up a home subwoofer amplifier? plz help me with this question.
the audiobahns power handling is 650 rms, 1300 peak with a single 4ohm voice coil in a sealed box.
All plate amps from partsexpress.com are designed to give max power output @ 4-Ohms so the Audiobahn with a single 4-Ohm voice coil will work OK with that amp, impedance-wise.
You may need to consider getting some damping materials for the box as your room lacks the carpet and car subwoofers tend to sound boomy when used at home.

I need someone to guide me in order to connect the following: SONY STR DE 597 RECEIVER TO TEAC 250w ACTIVE SUB TO MAIN FLOOR STANDING SPEAKERS. THE REST OF THE SPEAKERS(SURROUNDS) ARE PLAYING PERFECTLY.
