I received the Panasonic DMR-E75V DVD Video Recorder as gift last Christmas. I am a novice and I have no idea what type of dvd discs I should use to copy from VHS to DVD format. Could someone recommend a disc format. My primary function for this machine is to copy my home VHS movies to DVD discs.

Hi Effy,
There are only 2 types of recordable DVD. So even if you were to just buy one and try it, you stand a 50/50 chance of getting it right, or wrong.
Assuming that this gift was in its original box, you have a manual for the recorder. The manual will tell you very clearly which disc, either DVD-R(W) or DVD+R(W), is the one for your player. R is recordable only once, while RW is re-writable, so that you can use it like a VHS tape and record over it again and again.
