Harman Kardon AVR435
Pioneer Elite VSX-52tx
Both have a solid, mellow sound. I find the Athena's quite bright and those two receivers will calm the highs a little.
Also look at the new Yamaha 2500, I'm still waiting to audition one but I've heard great things, and the price is good.
Also worth auditioning are:
Onkyo 602/702
Denon 2805/3805
NAD T753- (Music = excellent)
and lastly, Marantz - Good music quality, price, and power.
