Haven't seen any formal reviews on this little guy. Anyone seen or heard anything about them? The "MSRP," as well as the specs, look quite interesting!
Yahoo search found some sites selling it. The Velodyne site shows this, with price in pounds at the end: Velodyne VX-10
Velodyne's entry level subwoofer brings the thrill of surround sound cinemas into your home at an affordable price. Designed to deliver substantial bass output for Home Cinema applications at a very affordable price, its 10" driver (8.2" piston diameter) is powered by a discrete-component 150-watt Dynamic Power (100 watt RMS) amplifier and is housed in a stylish, computer-assisted design cabinet. The front-firing 10" woofer's output is enhanced by a carefully engineered rear mounted port to produce significant bass extension, output and impact.
Among the key features that separate the Velodyne from the competition, the VX-10 includes a precision-machined voice coil gap and large copper voice coil, a stiff, light coated-fiber cone, and a specifically engineered ported cabinet. By focusing on all these aspects of speakers design and manufacture, Velodyne gets more output and impact from our high performance amplifiers while maintaining the tight, accurate, low-distortion sound that has made Velodyne famous worldwide.
The only problem I see with that one is it's range - it only goes down to 36Hz. Many main speakers go that low. For a little more money you can get their CHT-10 that goes to 28Hz. Joe
