Hi

I have Paradigm Monitor 3 and Paradigm CC-370 speakers.

Which receiver will match my speakers better?

Marantz, Denon, Yamaha? I go 80% music and 20% movies

Any help will be apreciated

The denon and yamaha are a better match with paradigm than marantz. If you want for mostly music I would suggest you look at NAD and rotel as well as they are both excellent for music and match well with paradigm.

I have read about some problems with NAD receivers. Do you know anything about it?

What is your budget? Very important when making recommendations.

About the NAD. I personally do not know of any person having problems with their respective unit. I see it on this forum, though, be aware that this is not indicative of the entire run. You will hear mostly problems as the owner of units that have no problems are not too vocal about their praise.

The internet just amplifies (sorry for the pun) these problems. NAD support is excellent so, no worries! If you like it, get it!

cheers

Denon 3805 is not THX certified.

Has anyone tested the Onkyo TX-SR702 with Paradigm Monitor 3 speakers?

Thanks again!

Isaac:

I concur with Berny and dlowe, get the Denon 3805.

THX select certification on the Onkyo 702 doesn't mean that it sounds better. My last reciever was the Onkyo 701 (also THX select certified) and I now have the Denon 3805. I prefer the 3805 for both music and movies. ( I also used to own some Paradigm Mini Monitors)

If your use is 90% music, why are concerned with THX certification?

I owns a Kenwood VR-6070 but I am not very happy with it

Isaac, while you are out trying the 3805 you should listen to a yamaha, either the 1500 or 2500. Some like them better than denon, some prefer denon. I have paradigm and have listened to them both with paradigm and am not really sure which i prefer, but the yamaha might save you some money as they are a little cheaper than the denon.

oh, and by the way I also have a kenwood with my paradigms (705) and know how you feel, does the job for movies and is lacking for music. I will be getting a denon or yamaha as soon as I get a job!!!!

Yes, the 6070 had that problem on power hungry speakers, that's why they came out with the 7080 and it is much better.
