O.K., I'm stuck on this one. Bottom line, which is the better receiver for both HT and audio, and why? Assume Energy Veritas speakers, Sunfire SW and Denon DVD.
B&K AVR 507. I've tried the Sunfire, I'm surprised carver had anything to do with it. At that price point I just expected better. Better bass management, fuller sound, better stereo imaging, great as home theater, though, which I think was the intended market. To be fair, the compared equipment was an Outlaw Audio 950 with the 7100, using older Boston Acoustics speakers. The last piece of Carver I purchased was the HR-722 receiver, it still rocks. However, you may like the Sunfire, give it a shot. Have you listened to it?

I haven't, but have always been a Carver fan. The reviews are great on the unit. The downside to the B&K is primarily the set-up. Many people have commented on that after purchase. Also, the Sunfire has 50 more watts per channel.
