I recently purchased a Pioneer Elite VSX-54TX paired with MA S6 and S1's. I will add my MA center channel as soon as my wife approves of this next purchase. ;-)
Anyway, the stereo guy I've been talking to encouraged me to bi-wire the speakers since they support this. However, I wonder if there is really any advantage to doing this since the same receiver will be powering the speakers. From what I understand, bi-wiring is only beneficial when two amps are implemented in the configuration...nothing is gained when using one receiver/amp because the same electrical channel is used.
Can anyone provide some insight into this? I have to run some cabling under the floor and attach my own connectors. I'd rather not have to purchase bi-wire and more connectors and go through all of the hassle if there's really no advantage. Also, any optimal gauge recommendations for the cable? Any light that you can shed on this topic is appreciated!
