bi wiring is when you use two separate amps to power one pair of speakers. the idea is to power the tweeter and the midrange woofer separately. some people believe that there is a difference in sound, but many people also say that you will probably have to dish out a couple thousand on speakers to have a difference. bi wiring is different in that you are using only one amp to connect both posts. many people argue that this is completely useless because you essentially get the same effect connecting just one post and having a bridge to have the other post connected. sorri if this is too vague. i hope this gives you an idea and someone else can give a better explaination.
What you describe is bi-amping. Bi-wiring is wiring the tweeter and lower frequency speakers separately with the two strands - where a bridge connector is removed between the two wiring posts. On some systems there is an audible improvement - others not much so.

My Rantz,
which systems do you think provide the most improvement, and any idea why?
