I just purchased an Adcom 5200 rated at 75 Watt into a 4-ohm load for my Mini-Advent speakers. I plugged it into my Denon 395 (Multi-zone receiver) on zone 3 with Monster cables. In order to get some sound -- I have to crank the volume to 17 db. When I connect the speakers up directly to the Denon 395 -- they sound great (but I lose another set of speakers). I connected my CD player directly to the 5200 amplifier -- it sounds great. I am guessing that the Preamp is sending a low signal strength to the amplifier. Any suggestions ???
