I noticed the following difference. As a newbie I'm wondering is it worth the extra 200 dollars to get the 2400-i don't reallt care about the extra power. the 2400 has a record out selctor-what are the distadvantegs of not having that? Also:+ 12 VOLT TRIGGER 2 versus 1 REMOTE CONTROL IR CODE INPUT /OUTPUT 2 verus 1 1 RS-232C YES versus NO RECEIVER EDITOR CAPABILITY YES verus NO
At the prices I have seen on this site at the beginning of the receivers section on the new Yamaha's I would go with either the 1500 or 2500. I am amazed that for a new model that lists on Yamaha's website for $1099 you can get the 2500 for under $700. The 1500 can be had for under $550. That's a pretty low price for two nice midline units. At these prices I see no reason to buy a 1400/2400 unless you can get them for much less. I love the rec out function as it allows you to record one source while listening to another. Wish my Elite had it. If it was my money, and I was interested in Yamaha Iwould buy the 2500.
