I recently purchased an Onkyo HT-S770 system and seem to be having problems with the subwoofer. When I first switch on the receiver, the subwoofer doesn't want to come out of standby mode. I read in the manual about the auto-standby feature of the subwoofer but shouldn't it come on with the receiver regardless?
Also, if I use the test tone function, shouldn't that bring the subwoofer out of standby? It doesn't. All the other speakers produce the tone but the subwoofer stays off. That doesn't seem kosher to me but I'm a bit of a newbie in the home theater department and I wanted to make sure.
So, is there a problem with the subwoofer or am I just paranoid? I've only had the system for 3 days and it's a bit annoying/unnerving for the subwoofer to be acting up already (if it is). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
