Now I am new to Home theatres so call me stupid if you want to.
Now correct me if I am wrong, but the above model had dolby 5.1 and DTS.
I have the Decoder/DVD player connected to the TV via a scart lead.
The dolby 5.1 is great when playing a dvd but when I am watching the TV, I only get the left / right and sub speakers. I thought DTS should use Left / Right / Centre and Rear.
OK.. I have a DTS capible stereo which works fine using audio leads and I get all speakers working.... is this where I am going wrong? I need to use AV leads in place of the scart lead? Or both AV and scart?
I have read the destruction manual to no avail....
TV is not broadcast using DTS. You must use your Dolby Pro Logic settings on your receiver to get the Dolby 5.1 sound that TV/Cable/Sattelite transmits.
That should , at the very least, turn on your center channel. Not all shows are recorded in Stero or 5.1. Your older shows are in mono, so don't expect any surround experience watching Andy Griffith. Your newer shows like the West Wing.
