I was all set to get the Hsu for a 90% music 5-channnel system. But now the new SVS looks really nice too.
The probable room location for the sub faces a room opening on the opposite wall. Question - will a front-firing sub like the SVS lose more of its energy firing into that open area than a bottom-firing Hsu will? Or is it immaterial at low frequencies?
I wish I could find the face-off I read on these two.
But the bottem line is they're both almost equal for music, with the Hsu edging ahead a little in mid-range bass, while the SVS does a little better with the lower range Hz.
