I have around £500-£600 and decided I would spend a little more time and try to find a decent seperates system instead of an all-in-one. I am after a CD/DVD, tuner, amp, floor standers with the option of using it for 5.1. I know its kind of an open ended question but Im hoping the feeling will be unanimous. Thanks!

Hi Anto, At that price range i'd seriously consider a stand mount speaker. You get a lot more for your money than with a floorstander. If your looking for 5.1 one day you can always demote the standmounts to the rears at a later date. If you can go second hand on the Amp and tuner. possibly the CD player as well. Cd player is a bit more risky as the transport mechanism may fail. Does your budget include cables? All I can suggest is something like this: Secondhand Denon DVD700 appox £100 Secondhand Denon AVR1804 AV amp approx £200 Secondhand Pure DRX-701ES Tuner approx £70 Monitor Audio Bronze B2 Speakers - £190 (New) B1's are cheaper but not quite as good. Attacama Stands - £40 S/H - Ebay Interconnects - Allow about £60 or so for 2 interconnects. Stay away from super expensive interconnects. I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference anyway. As for speaker cable try some good quality twin and earth electrical cable before you spend loads on 'Special' cables. HTH
