if i can get a decent price on these 2 pair, i would like to upgrade to get maggies for my mains, well see...
B&W 601's - $300 sonically perfect, cosmetically they are good, but not quite perfect. if you have them on a bookshelf, they look great, sound even better. i will send pics to anyone interested.
Kef Q15's - $200 sonically better than new, cosmetically same as the B&W's, nothing you will notice if you have them on a bookshelf. when i say sonically better i mean it... one day i noticed that the entire front panel of the box was coming loose. dont get me wrong, kef's are great sounding speakers, but the build quality stinks. these have a decent medium-duty plastic front panel which is simply glued and pressed into the rest of the box, no screws or internal bracing. i fixed that with minimal internal bracing and dowels front to back behind the speakers mounting holes. now you could drop them 20 feet and probably only dent them. i will send pics to anyone who is interested, thanks!
