Since no one has seen the SPECIFIC box you are looking at, they are basing their comments on a general poor experience with prefabs. Since you already have it, try it if you want to. But just keep in mind that a leaky sealed box will effect the sub's performance. |

The piece of wood you screw the sub into is VERY weak. It sort of fell apart like particle board. Maybe they make them better now, but that one was crap. New member Username: GharariPost Number: 9 Registered: Dec-06 | my temp sub that's in the Q-Logic box is a type R 12 and it rocks. I am hoping the Mag will kick it's but though. The q-logic box I have now can be set up for sealed or ported. You can either screw in the port or the cover to make it sealed. The face (where the sub screws in) is particle board covered with an aluminum looking veneer. It's probably cheap and doesn;t seal as well as a custom box and I think you're probably right about the custom sounding better. I am going to price a custom since it will likely fit AND sound better. The Q-logic I bought from Circuit City was about $125, so not cheap. Anyopne know a resonably priced box builder in the Phoenix area? I don't want to take the time to do it myself. |
