Gold Member Username: Basshead86OG eCoustics Member Post Number: 8604 Registered: Aug-05 | amps?? you need a SOLID 14v to get rated power out of the Massives, or so i am told by Kevin. the Sundowns do rated power at 12.6 i believe. |
Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 7392 Registered: Dec-04 | alright thanks. I was also thinking about the DLS ultimate a6 what do you think about that on the mag since you have one. Hit me off on IM later when you get a chance. |
Silver Member Username: 04redmach1Columbus, GA USA Post Number: 148 Registered: Mar-06 | We have a single MAG and Sundown package as well. 1 Sundown SAZ-1500D + 1 SI MAG 12 $860 shipped 1 Sundown SAZ-1500D + 1 SI MAG 15 $910 shipped Let me know if I can help. Kevin |
Silver Member Username: 04redmach1Columbus, GA USA Post Number: 149 Registered: Mar-06 | Massive Audio is a great amp, but the P3000 does need 14 volts to get 3000 watts. The Sundown amp is better quality without a doubt, and will hold up .5 ohm all day. At 1 ohm, the Sundown will give 1800-2000 rms. Massive you cannot go below rated ohm load, or the magic smoke shall rise. |

Gold Member Username: Basshead86OG eCoustics Member Post Number: 8667 Registered: Aug-05 | the claw basket does not have the same motor/soft parts. lol the newest Mag is the first to have the convex cone, and no rubber magnet boot with smaller mags. iirc |

New member Username: SundownzMooresville, NC USA Post Number: 1 Registered: Nov-06 | Hey guys, Just registered over here on Ecoustics. I am the owner of Sundown Audio and I was going to post on another thread related to the amps but it was already Archived and it seems that I cannot add another reply. It was mentioned that a pair of 1500Ds measured at 5kw strapped at a 2 ohm load. This is true and you can see the meters here: http://bigbassman.realmofexcursion.com/pics/displayimage.php?album=32&pos=0 http://bigbassman.realmofexcursion.com/pics/displayimage.php?album=32&pos=1 Alot of people were drawing comparisons between the 1500D and the IA 20.1 in that thread. Fact of the matter is the 20.1 is more expensive new vs. new or used vs. used because it is a larger amplifier. Yes, the 1500D does alot of power, and yes the 20.1 does more power... would you expect otherwise? Look at the price difference new vs. new. If the 20.1 didn't do more power now THAT would be shocking. Comparing the two is not exactly a direct comparison, and neither is comparing a used 20.1 to a brand new 1500D. One has warranty support and the other does not. As for stability... the 20.1 is very stable into low ohm loads, yes, but you void your warranty under 1 ohm. I warranty to 0.5 ohms on the 1500D. And no, it will NOT like to run much under 0.5 ohms and will go into protection... some folks have ran 0.35 ohms DCR but that is still a 0.5 ohm nominal load! So yes, the 20.1 will run a lower load than the 1500D; and it should, it is a larger and more expensive amplifier. Loyd, bigbassman, is working on a battery of testing of the SAZ-1500D and should have results in the next few days. He switched from a 20.1 to a pair of 1500Ds in his vehicle, as an FYI. I'll be around to answer more questions whenever I have a chance, hopefully that helps out with a few questions! |

Gold Member Username: DrsmithMontana USA Post Number: 2136 Registered: Nov-04 | so who long does this deal go for, is it really until new years or does it end when the mag group buy ends |
Silver Member Username: 04redmach1Columbus, GA USA Post Number: 244 Registered: Mar-06 | This deal is until New Years So if anyone missed out on the MAG group buy, they can still save on a amp/sub deal from 2 GREAT companies. Kevin PS: Loyd likes the Sundowns better than the 20.1's as well. Hard to beat it, quality is great performance is great price is great, and you have a GREAT warranty |
