New member Username: SnickersPost Number: 1 Registered: Nov-10 | Good morning, I am trying to plug my Shap Aquos but am encountering a little problem. I can get the picture on the TV without a problem using an HDMI cable. I have NOT YET plugged in the audio cable. However, there is a very weird short sound (sounds like: tsssssh) coming out of the TV speakers. I noticed that it comes out more frequently when I'm watching videos (once every 5 or 6 seconds) than when the desktop is iddle (once every 20 seconds or so), although it's not in regular intervals. Any ideas? Thanks! |

I don't have one and would like to make sure before going out and buying one). It's just that I thought HDMI carried both audio and video... but I assume that's not the case because it is plugged only in the video card, correct? |
Platinum Member Username: PlymouthCanada Post Number: 15469 Registered: Jan-08 | Nicolas I understood that you hooked your PC on your Aquos? Is it right? If yes, the sound from PC doesn't work fine throught the HDMI, I have a 52" Aquos 3 months old then it not work fine from the PC then I buyed a cable jack 1/8" to RCA(stereo), hooked directly on my Home theater. The problem with the numeric on a PC is that it work only on supported files like AC3, MP3, Wave and few others, most of the time no sound come from the numeric cable. The surround work fine if hooked on the Home Theater but not if you use it throught the TV Volume. |

Any ideas? Cheers! |

New member Username: SnickersPost Number: 5 Registered: Nov-10 | It is plugged directly in the motherboard, which is an ASUS one. How would I verify if I am using Realtek? Thanks! |

Your main board use a Realtek ALC887 sound chip! Read this thread which I hope help you: http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&id=20090302194502815&board_i d=1&model=P6T&page=1&count=43 Note that it's not your board then load only the drivers for your hardware! |
