My older emachine t1842 power supply zapped has all my info and Windows XP OS. Can I switch this drive with xp to emachine w/o OS ? Will it work as xp although product key on machine is for vista? (motherboard problems?) One would think if legit license key there should be link to a download from Microsoft.. Vista Home Basic. disc damaged etc... You can tell I'm a real pc pro not!... I searched way too long everywhere, msn +++ Thanks all for any answers.. |

If it doesn't come with the O/S, but you have a key, you can definitely get an install disc of vista. You might even be able to get it free since you already have a key. Best thing to do is get a HDD to USB cable and plug the HDD into your new computer in this manner so you can access/transfer all of your old data to your new computer. http://the-gadgeteer.com/2005/08/21/usb_2_0_to_ide_cable_version_2/ |
