Hi,
I'm very new to this, so please dumb things down to the sesame street level for me. I've read a few post on this, but looks like everyone has a more advanced level than I am.

My laptop has a s-video place and my dvd has an s video place. my tv has nothing, so my only option is to connect via my dvd player out to my tv. Do I need another cord? I have the regular 4 pin head on both ends only. How should I change the settings on my tv and dvd to allow this to work?

I have a thinkpad t42.

Thanks

if your dvd is a recorder type this may be possible otherwise the s-video on your dvd is for outgoing signal to your tv, it is not an input and connecting your laptop/dvd in this manor may damage it. Is this a recording dvd? If it is connect the laptop to an "input" and note which input if there is more than one. Now turn on laptop, dvd recorder and go to the input on the dvd recorder where you connected the laptop. On your tv you would need to go to the dvd selection for viewing.
